Magic rituals may be comprised of different elements. They may occur underground or at a very great depth. A ritual may cause an earthquake or fissure if something goes wrong and I would be very apprehensive about where I perform them. People traverse great distances to observe rituals and may bestow gifts on those who have great prowess and success. A pilgrimage may be undertaken to the summit of a mountain for a particularly special ritual. Some rituals require meager supplies and others are very extensive.

Many years ago, a man decided to go on a long pilgrimage across the sea. He traversed many oceans until reaching a massive volcano. He climbed to the pinnacle and looked down into the abyss. Subsequently, he felt impelled to climb down and get a closer look. He could see lots of rubble and was exhilarated by the chance to explore. He had a very meager supply of rope but his climbing prowess enabled him to make it down to a ledge safely. Once there, he felt much apprehension. He feared not being able to climb back up. The allure of exploring subterranean landscapes had left him stuck in a volcano.
